Shaping The Future, Inspired By The Past: Design in Mexico Today
Saturday, February 17, 11 am-12 pm

Design, by its very nature, is a continuous process of evolution, a dialogue between the past, present, and future. Mexican designers seamlessly bridge these temporal boundaries, drawing inspiration from the artistry of their ancestors while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of contemporary design. This fusion of tradition and modernity gives rise to a unique design aesthetic that is both deeply rooted in Mexican culture and distinctly contemporary.

Join Jorge F. Rivas Pérez, Frederick and Jan Mayer Curator of Latin American Art at the DAM, in a lecture that explores how Mexican designers are revitalizing and reinterpreting their cultural inheritance to create fresh, forward-thinking designs that resonate with global audiences.
