Joel Bacon x Soundtracks for the Present Future
Performance One: Thursday, April 4, 12 pm
Performance Two: Thursday, April 4, 5:30 pm
Joel Bacon (instrumentalist) and Nicole Asel (mezzo-soprano/reader) will present a special concert of original compositions in collaboration with and amongst Charley Friedman’s Soundtracks for the Present Future, an immersive auditory installation in the museum’s Griffin Foundation Gallery.
Alongside Bacon’s other works, the musicians will premiere his original composition, At the River, a multi-movement work written for performance on the nearly sixty guitars, mandolins, and basses in Soundtracks.
This program is part of a unique set of concerts in collaboration with the exhibition and replacing this spring’s Music in the Museum Concert Series at the Gregory Allicar Museum of Art. MitM presents free music programs featuring faculty and students from the music and the art and art history departments at CSU.
These concerts are free and open to the public, but we ask for reservations as space is limited.
