- The Governor’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts have been announced and will be awarded Sept 14. Honorees include Galisteo’s Lucy R. Lippard and Albuquerque’s Jody Naranjo (Santa Clara Pueblo).
- Art rocker St. Vincent and champion whistler Andrew Bird will perform at the Santa Fe Opera Sept 18 to benefit the Santa Fe NOW Action Network, supporting reproductive justice and other urgent issues in New Mexico.
- The 2018-2019 Fulcrum Fund–a grant program of 516 ARTS in partnership with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts–among the recipients is The Magazine contributor Alicia Inez Guzmán.
