Welcome to the new The Magazine! With this issue, we are launching into a new phase, and I am thrilled to present a new logo, a completely redesigned magazine, and new branding that will help propel our mission forward.
Our original branding was designed around the print publication. A quarter century later, under new ownership and direction for the first time, and poised to expand in new directions that will complement the printed page, The Magazine has evolved beyond its previous identity. For several months, I have worked closely with local lead designers David Chickey and David Skolkin to reimagine the look and feel of this magazine from the ground up. After rethinking our logo, page size, typography, color scheme, and all of the details in between, they have created a more reader-centric, art-filled, design-forward publication that better facilitates our mission to be the ambassador for contemporary arts and culture in New Mexico and the Southwest.
I am very excited to launch our new look, and I believe that The Magazine now has greater potential to increase the scope of our content, reach larger audiences, and expand our offerings in print, online, and in the world for our readers and our community. I also believe that we have not only created a better container for our content, but we’ve also created a magazine that is a work of art in its own right and a joy to read.
