July 14 – August 13, 2017
Patina Gallery, Santa Fe
Patina Gallery presents two exhibitions in celebration of the world premiere of The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs at the Santa Fe Opera on July 22, 2017. The opera, which explores the life and work of Jobs, is one of the most highly anticipated events of the summer. In Doug Menuez’s solo exhibition Fearless Genius: The Digital Revolution 1985-2000, Menuez will present his documentary photography of intimate, behind-the-scenes moments in Silicon Valley during the late ’80s and early ’90s. In 1985, when Menuez was in search of a project, Jobs set him up on the inside to watch the digital revolution unfold over the following fifteen years. The exhibition will show images and stories that document the day-to-day accounts of Silicon Valley innovators. A second exhibition at the gallery, Crafted Visions: The Tension of Opposites, (July 21-August 20, 2017) takes a different approach to reflecting on the computer revolution. Curated by jewelry artist and Silicon Valley executive Ivy Ross, Crafted Visions is a group exhibition featuring thirteen contemporary jewelry artists whose work is influenced by the spirit of technology and innovation.
Opening receptions on Friday, July 14, and Friday, July 21, 5-7 pm.
