Walking History Tour of the School for Advanced Research Campus

June 21, 10:00 am11:30 am

Free – $15

Explore the School for Advanced Research’s(SAR) campus on Santa Fe’s Historic Eastside. Once a 1920s estate, now scholars and Indigenous artists work in residence amidst distinctive architecture and art.

Explore the fascinating history, stunning architecture, and beautiful outdoor gardens—including the famous pet cemetery—of the 1920s home of Amelia Elizabeth White and Martha Root White. The secluded sixteen-acre estate, formerly known as “El Delirio” (The Madness), is now the campus for SAR, a research center for anthropologists, archaeologists, and artists. Learn about the past and present of SAR—Exploring humanity. Understanding our world.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes so you can fully appreciate the rustic beauty of the campus and its graveled and flagstoned walkways. Tours may be subject to cancellation or rescheduling in case of inclement weather. Tours occur at 10 am, are free to SAR members, and $15 to the public. Tickets are available for purchase on our website(linked below). Reservations are required.
