Florence Miller Pierce, an heir to the traditions of the Transcendental Painting Group in the Southwest in the main galleries. Marietta Patricia Leis, a direct descendant of Pierce’s investigations into luminosity, in the Wright Office. Mysteriously sumptuous photos show opulent surfaces “entwined with the grit of labor” by Francis Reynolds in the Project Space. The shows will hang from May 25 through July 12, 2024.
The Wright Contemporary is a gallery in Taos, NM, dedicated primarily to the artists of northern New Mexico. Named for the late Ira Wright, a Santa Fe-based artist and benefactor, the gallery offers approximately eight shows per year, curated by art journalist and director Ann Landi and artist Michelle Cooke. The gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday, 2-6 pm.
