Laureen Hylka Wondolowski: Plein Air & Studio Adventure
opening reception: Friday, May 10, 5-8 pm
on view: May 10–June 7, 2024
Artist Laureen Hylka Wondolowski believes the Plein Air experience is an informative adventure that she will continue to find rewarding through years to come. “Painting from life is my preference for it enables me to capture the nuances of the scene which would not be possible by using a photo.” This exhibition will showcase Laureen’s latest Plein Air paintings along with her studio works. Whether on location or in the studio, the hours of experience from painting Plein Air, filters through into the studio.
Wondolowski is a member of the Copley Society of Boston, American Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America and Connecticut Pastel Society. She attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, New York Arts Students League and the Scottsdale Artists School. A national award-winning artist, Laureen’s painting, Eastern Bluebird, recently won the Robert Douglas Hunter Award in the Guild of Boston Artist’s Exhibition. Her painting, Olde Concorian Bridge is included in the permanent collection of the U.S. Navy Memorial, Washington, D.C.
