Join us for refreshments in the celebration of the opening of DEVOTION. The exhibition features art with iconography related to any religion. It features twenty-five emerging and established artists with a focus on artists working in the Sangre de Cristo mountains.
Devotional art is the beating heart of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. For centuries, it has adorned the walls of every home and house of worship in New Mexico. No matter rich or poor, devotional art acts as a personal connection with the divine. It is functional art that carries the dreams, blessings, fears, and sorrows of the people living on this land.
The artists who have been accepted into the show are: Augustine Romero, E. Esperanza, Jessica Ortiz, Brandon Maldonado, Mary Miller, Diane Arthur, Jessi Cross, Jarad McHugh, Juniper Vaughn, Rosario Glezmir, Maria Mikhailas, Salma Vir-Banks, Anna French, Alivia Magaña, Gail Grambling-Harris, Sara Kollig, Brandon Messing, Isabel Wolke, Alyssa Romero, Kendra Streibeg, Janet Lynn, Eric Romero and Kevin Urban.
