Core Contemporary proudly presents The Liminal Veil – Stepping Through, a solo exhibition featuring the art of Kamora Jones.
When viewing the art created by Jones, one experiences an invitation to take a journey into the unknown parts of ourselves and others. Always asking “How can we evolve? How can we become better?” Jones leads us with her own travels through altered states of consciousness, such as psychedelic research, near-death experiences, mass interest in topics related to metaphysical mysteries, reincarnation, astral projection, remote viewing, simulation theory, interest in aliens, an ever-growing (collective) critique of the human experience, and a decline in traditional religious devotion.
Visitors to the exhibition will also see paintings filled with beings the artist identifies as “Transmigrators,” who she sees as entities of higher-consciousness ideas. The fictional representation of these entities are intended to guide us into deeper dialogue and evaluation of our very existence.
“The oracle-like compositions of Kamora’s paintings have compelled fascination for as long as I’ve known of her work.” shares gallery owner/curator, Nancy Good. “Coming from my own perspectives as a humanist, philosophical artist, Kamora’s work has a familiarity in terms of thematic concepts, but each piece also holds an ‘other’ more foreign component that reminds me I will never know it all.”
