Chase Kahwinhut Earles: Traditional Caddo Pottery Making Demonstration

February 22February 24

Free

Chase Kahwinhut Earles (Caddo) works using traditional Caddo pottery methods. He works with wild harvested and hand-processed clay using the hand-coiled clay building to form his vessels. Vessels are hand-burnished, decorated with scrolling designs and finally pit fired. Earles will provide a hand-building workshop (free and open to the public) consisting of 2-3 hour sessions over two days demonstrating every aspect of his process. On the final day, he will demonstrate a traditional pit firing of a clay vessel.
