Terrie Mangat: Quilts
opening reception: Saturday, February 3, 4-6 pm
on view: February 3–March 17, 2024
Taos artist Terrie Mangat makes eye-popping quilts inspired by both age-old patterns handed down through the centuries and by the art and the landscape of Northern New Mexico. These dazzling hand-sewn adventures have been featured nationwide in solo and museum shows.
Mangat first learned to sew at the age of twelve at the Singer Sewing Center in her native Kentucky and has scarcely stopped since. Trained as a printmaker and a potter, she also produces memorable variations on traditional quilt patterns. A generous sampling of her works will be at The Wright Contemporary through March 17, 2024.
