This summer, apply for lavish and rugged Southwest artist residency opportunities in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.
Are you an artist or writer in the Southwest who might enjoy living in a “curious” Victorian mansion with a private chef and a laser cutter? We’ve got the artist residency for you.
Or perhaps you’re more inclined to the rugged life of a Wyoming rancher—but still want your meals catered. Don’t miss the final entry on this list of residency opportunities in or near the Southwest.
These residency programs mostly have application deadlines between June and August of 2024, with a few notable initiatives that accept applicants year-round.
While you’re compiling application materials this summer (and dreaming of 2025, when many of these residencies will take place), make sure to review our past coverage of residency programs with deadlines in different seasons, including spring 2024, fall 2023-winter 2024, and summer 2023.
