Artist Tammie Rubin joins us for a Perspective Tour exploring the exhibition Raven Halfmoon: Flags of Our Mothers.
Rubin’s sculptures are largely informed by her relationship to objects through familial and cultural narratives and her experiences as a Black American woman. As a sculptor and installation artist working primarily in ceramics, Rubin’s material and thematic explorations share common ground with Raven Halfmoon, whose large-scale ceramic figures pay homage to Indigenous women and the artist’s Caddo heritage.
Beginning with a presentation by Rubin of her own work in our Community Room, the tour will then venture into the galleries where Rubin will touch on specific works by Halfmoon.
