CENTER Santa Fe presents two photography exhibitions this spring—Elements of Wonder and A New Mexican Burial—alongside a statewide printing workshop series designed to help artists grow their practice.

CENTER is a nonprofit organization supporting social and environmentally engaged lens-based projects through education, public platforms, funding, and partnerships.
This spring and summer, CENTER presents a dynamic season of exhibitions and learning opportunities that celebrate photography, place, and creative practice across New Mexico.
Elements of Wonder: When Nature Becomes Art
April 17–May 17, 2026
opening: Friday, April 17, 5-7 pm
Elements of Wonder: When Nature Becomes Art by Jon McCormack explores the inherent artistry of the natural world across scales, from the minute and intimate to the vast and monumental. The exhibition invites viewers to slow down, experience a sense of awe, and reflect on the beauty, complexity, and fragility of the living earth—and our shared responsibility to protect it.
A New Mexican Burial
May 29–June 29, 2026
opening: Friday, May 29, 5-7 pm
screening + Q&A: Thursday, June 18, 6 pm
A New Mexican Burial by JC Gonzo is an ongoing multimedia project exploring the interconnections between the state’s cemeteries and its cultures, ecologies, and history. The integration of adobe, native plantlife, and metalwork that uniquely defines these cemeteries are entwined with surrounding resources, local customs, and their complex histories. They are a testament to ingenuity, cultural exchange, and tradition—and ultimately, are a constantly evolving reflection of the living.
