Write for SWC
As Southwest Contemporary begins expanding its coverage across the Southwest, we are on the lookout for sharp, engaged freelance writers (reporters, critics, essayists) from across the region to contribute features, critical essays, profiles, reviews, photo essays, and other stories to our print and digital publications.
Contributors should be based in, frequent, or have great familiarity with the regions they are interested in covering, including Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, and sometimes beyond. We believe in supporting quality creative work, so all of our contributors will be paid for their assignments (fees generally range from $75 to $275).
Please fill out this form to express interest in contributing. Two writing samples are required, but you do not need to be a published writer or have prior journalistic experience. Specific article pitches are not required at this time, but we’d love to hear your ideas!
