The Southwest arts community rallied for independent arts journalism at Southwest Contemporary‘s first fundraiser, raising nearly $40,000 to support emerging writers and cultural coverage.

Dear friends,
We threw a party for our community, and our community 👏 showed 👏 up 👏!
On Friday, June 6, we gathered for an ~extraordinary~ evening at Santa Fe’s Scottish Rite Masonic Center in celebration of art, community, and independent arts journalism.
For those who joined us, your presence made our vision a vibrant reality. We saw friends old and new, from near and far. Connections were forged and rekindled. The electricity of creators coming together was palpable. We gathered to rally support for independent arts journalism. But the real goal—as it always is—was to be in community, to share space with like-minded neighbors and colleagues, and we are so honored to have created that space with you.
As our very first fundraiser event, all of our expectations were simply blown away. Thanks to your generosity—whether you attended, bid on artwork, donated, or supported us remotely—we raised nearly $40,000 (!) for independent arts journalism in the Southwest. This success reflects our community’s commitment to ensuring diverse artistic voices continue to be heard and celebrated. Your support will fund emerging writers, critical arts coverage, and independent journalism that spotlights the cultural work of this region.
Lastly, if you want to help us get over the $40K line, we are just $601 short! You can still help us reach that neat, round number by making a donation through our fundraiser portal.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for believing in this mission and making our Art Party a true celebration of what we can accomplish together!
