ted laredo: chromalux
July 12–August 3, 2024
EXHIBIT/208, Albuquerque
This groundbreaking exhibition chromalux continues ted laredo’s exploration into the power, seduction, and beauty of light and color. Working with unconventional materials such as reflective glass micro beads and micaceous iron oxide flake in combination with LED light, laredo provides a full-spectrum perceptual experience.
Inspired by Light and Space artists, such as Olafur Eliasson, Helen Pashgian, and Florence Miller Pierce, laredo continues this tradition of transmuting physical realms into transcendental visual experiences. Viewers willing to approach this work with open eyes and open minds will be rewarded with rich and vivid afterimages.
Within Exhibit/208‘s gallery space, laredo creates an immersive experience with kinetic sculpture, reflective surfaces, and wall-mounted, large-scale works inviting audiences to ponder the vastness of the universe and the intricacies of our earthly existence. This exhibition promises to leave a lasting impression on all who venture into its captivating realm.
