Arizona Artist Residencies
Made in Wickenburg Residency Program
Wickenburg, Arizona
The Made in Wickenburg residency, which takes place at a historic dude ranch just outside of Phoenix, is geared toward performing arts companies such as dance ensembles and theater groups.

Denis Roussel Annual Fellowship 2023
Fort Collins, Colorado
The Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins offers this annual fellowship in memory of late photographer Denis Roussel. It’s open to United States-based, photo-centric artists aged eighteen and over.

Nebraska Artist Residencies
Bemis Center Fall Residency
Omaha, Nebraska
The Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts offers independence-driven residencies in a communal environment. Resident artists have around-the-clock access to production spaces, a sculpture and ceramics facility, a music studio, and more.

Nevada Artist Residencies
Black Mountain Institute Shearing Fellowship
Las Vegas, Nevada
This semester-long working fellowship offered through the Black Mountain Institute at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, is for emerging and distinguished writers who have published at least one book with a trade or literary press. It includes housing and space in the BMI offices on the UNLV campus.

The Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, founded in 1954 on fifteen acres in Taos, is one of the country’s longest-running residency programs. The foundation accepts applications from visual artists, literary creatives, music composers, and songwriters.

Parse Seco
Arroyo Seco, New Mexico
This experimental creative space and art residency north of Taos offers thirty- to ninety-day residencies for “individual underrepresented artists, students, or artists who have not previously curated a show to critically engage issues of underrepresentation of specific race/demographics in art, controversial subject matter, and accessibility of art to all groups.”

Texas Artist Residencies
Corsicana Artist and Writer Residency
Corsicana, Texas
Two different residencies—one for artists, the other for writers—are available in this small city about an hour south of Dallas. Two-month terms take place in winter, spring, and fall 2023. Artists and writers from anywhere in the world are invited to apply.

Artpace Texas Open Call
San Antonio, Texas
Artpace, via the Texas Open Call, identifies artists who are interested in and eligible for participation in its 2024 International Artist-in-Residence program. Artists who have been living in the Lone Star State for at least one year are eligible to apply for a residency that includes travel expenses, a living stipend, a materials budget, an apartment, and studio/exhibition space.

Stipend: $6,000 living stipend and a production budget up to $10,000.

Wyoming Artist Residencies
Ucross Residency Program
Sheridan, Wyoming
The Ucross Residency Program offers opportunities for visual artists, writers, composers, choreographers, interdisciplinary artists, performance artists, and collaborative teams. The program is currently accepting applications for its fellowships for Native American visual artists and writers as well as general studio residencies.

Uncommon Art Residency

The Uncommon Art Residency takes place next to Grand Teton National Park at the Anvil Hotel. Selected residents will have access to nearby shared studio spaces for ceramics, printmaking, photography, and more.
