Stories Retold: New American Perspectives
March 14–May 31, 2025
Gerald Peters Contemporary, Santa Fe
A new group show kicks off the exhibition season at Gerald Peters Contemporary. Opening on Friday, March 14, the exhibition titled Stories Retold: New American Perspectives weaves together narratives about American history and everyday life. Drawing on realities, fantasies, and myths, the artworks on view offer a sometimes idealistic and nostalgic and at other times critical and discerning portrait of the American experience.
Exciting group shows continue the season with an exhibition of female pop artists in early summer. Working in various disciplines, the participating artists’ works address gender issues, female sexuality, capitalist critiques, and other sociopolitical concerns. A special guest-curated exhibition by Erin Joyce and Ninabah Winton, along with solo presentations by Patrick Dean Hubbell and Steven J. Yazzie, will round out late summer. A celebration of the twenty years of partnership with local sculptor Will Clift concludes the formal programming of the year.
Attend the opening of Stories Retold on Friday, March 14, 5-7 pm.
