Collect, the brainchild of noted Santa Fe DJ and artist Christina Swilley, will celebrate its first anniversary with a weekend of art exhibitions, pop up shops curated by clothier Dixon Rand, musical guests, culinary treats, flower markets, wine tastings, jewelry makers and other eclectic vendors. The celebration will take place on July 11 and July 12 at their Santa Fe Headquarters, 343 W. Manhattan Avenue, just across the street from the Railyard.
The weekend festivities will kick-off Friday from 11:00 am–4:00 pm, followed by a reception and art exhibition for Los Angeles-based painter Meagan Boyd, Friday night 7:00 pm–9:00 pm. Boyd creates whimsical paintings that she sees as visual poems that ‘reveal the interconnectedness of humanity and the natural world, bringing together both earthly and celestial creatures to celebrate in collective liberation.”
Musical guest for opening night will be Christopher Mansfield of Fences. Mansfield has been a fixture on the indie music scene since 2010 but rarely performs in town. His performance will include his ambient music and vocals comparable to The Cure or maybe Hank Williams.
On both July 11 and 12, Dixon Rand will be unveiling a new exclusive collection of clothing for both men and women and celebrating the heritage of chain stitch embroidery. Dixon Rand will be joined by Psychic Stitch, who use vintage embroidery machines to create one-of-a-kind pieces of textile art that can be integrated into luxury brands or worn for special occasions. Psychic Stitch will be live chain stitching both Friday and Saturday.
Greg O’ Byrne of the Santa Fe Wine and Chile Fiesta will set up Friday from 7:00pm–9:00 pm and has curated a personal selection of wines for the evening. O’Byrne, one of Santa Fe’s top sommeliers, will be conducting wine tastings and demonstrations that will provide a unique wine experience exclusively for this anniversary celebration.
