MSHR: Two Nights of Live Audiovisual Performance

April 24, 7:00 pm10:00 pm MDT

$10

The Institute of Contemporary Art Santa Fe is honored to welcome MSHR, the pioneering art collective founded by Brenna Murphy and Birch Cooper, for a rare two-night performance series. Fresh off a tour in Japan and China, this is a unique opportunity to experience their internationally recognized work here in Santa Fe.

On April 24, MSHR will perform Mesh Manifold, a four-channel sound composition driven by gestural interaction with handmade analog synthesizers and sculptural interfaces. The piece unfolds as a live feedback system between light, sound, and movement, creating a dynamic audiovisual environment. Originally commissioned by Indexical and The Lab (Santa Cruz, CA), Mesh Manifold introduces a constellation of autonomous instruments bridging digital and physical space.

MSHR builds and performs with sculptural electronic systems that merge human presence with electrical signal. Their work spans immersive installations and live audiovisual environments, combining analog circuitry, digital code, and custom hardware to explore the space between sound and form. Founded in 2011 in Portland, Oregon, MSHR continues to develop responsive systems that blur the line between the organic and the synthetic. The name MSHR is a modular acronym—open-ended by design—and can be spoken as a set of initials or as a verb: to mesh.

Join us at ICA Santa Fe for two nights of live performance that engage the edges of form, sound, and system.
