Gebert Contemporary will present its second exhibition during Scottsdale Art Week, March 20-22 (VIP access beginning on March 19), bringing its distinct curatorial vision and new leadership to one of the Southwest’s most anticipated art events.
Located in the heart of Main Street, the gallery has built a strong reputation over the past twenty-four years, presenting local and international contemporary artists whose visual and conceptual practices has left a strong impression. Featured artists include an accomplished roster, such as John Randall Nelson, whose playful and layered compositions explore contemporary culture with mixed media and wit. Barbara Rogers contributes paintings and mixed-media works that examine abstraction and botanicals with a sense of vulnerability. Pascal Piermé’s sculptural works add a bold, abstracted perspective that engages with spacial tension, color, and masterful craftsmanship. Kaori Takamura bridges cultural narratives and childhood nostalgia into nuanced and balanced compositions. Swiss American artist Sandro Gebert adds layer of expressive energy with works that blends printmaking, painting, and influences of street art into a cohesive style. Through bold and graphic shapes, Gebert uses graphic and surrealist forms to invite the viewer to build their own narratives. Chris Richter, an oil-based painter, explores nature-inspired abstractions, engaging with uncovering hidden layers of pigment and finding inspiration within landscape observation.
