Founded by artist Beverly Fisher in an 1850s adobe home, Studio light | space is Tucson’s intimate gallery for contemporary art that rewards sustained presence. Featuring nationally recognized artists in thoughtful, light-filled exhibitions.

Studio light | space is redefining how we experience contemporary art. Based in Barrio Viejo, Tucson, in an 1850s adobe territorial row home, and founded in 2022 by artist Beverly Fisher, this intimate gallery has become an essential destination for art collectors and enthusiasts seeking work that engages with atmosphere, reduction, and the poetics of space.
Light | space centers on how we actually live with art. Here, works exist in your peripheral vision as much as in direct view, present in the room, shifting with natural light, revealing themselves gradually throughout the day. This approach to looking invites a different kind of attention, one that values quietness and rigor over immediate impact. For collectors, it’s an opportunity to add depth to a collection: work that breathes in the space between glances.
Fisher’s background sets light | space apart. With an MFA from Tyler School of Art and an MLA from the University of New Mexico, she brings a curator’s eye and a designer’s spatial intelligence to every exhibition. The result is programming that honors both the work and the experience of encountering it: installations where natural light, material presence, and artistic vision exist in genuine dialogue.
Recent exhibitions have featured nationally recognized artists, including Arielle Zamora, Glenn Goldberg, Tom Martinelli, Hilary Lorenz, and Terran Last Gun. It’s a roster that demonstrates Fisher’s commitment to representing artists working at the highest level while maintaining distinctive, individual voices, from established names to emerging practitioners making their mark.
Within Tucson’s dynamic and growing arts community, the gallery plays a vital role as a bridge between local patrons and national contemporary practice. Working to become a regional destination, the gallery draws interest from across the Southwest. The gallery offers art sales, consultation, and space design services. Through thoughtful curation, light | space places art within lived spaces, fostering dialogue between artworks, architecture, and community.
