There is no more idyllic backdrop for a fine arts event than the eclectic and historic town of Crested Butte, Colorado. With iconic views of the Rocky Mountains surrounding the outdoor venue, the “Premier Arts Event in Colorado” attracts a savvy and sophisticated art-buying clientele from across the country. Embarking on its fiftieth year in the arts festival industry, this nationally recognized event invites world-class artisans and 12,000+ art enthusiasts to mingle during three days of visual, performing, and culinary arts with activities for the entire family throughout the weekend.
The Crested Butte Arts Festival is nestled under the Crested Butte Society, a 501 c(3) non-profit that was established to ensure year-round sustainable arts outreach funding for the community of the Gunnison Valley. The organization believes that arts outreach is one of the most essential ways to ensure the creative culture of a community. For this reason, proceeds from their annual festival are re-invested into individuals and organizations aspiring in creative outlets including performance arts, literary arts, visual arts, and more.
This year’s highlights include:
- approximately 130 juried fine artists from across the country
- a culinary court hosted by Colorado vendors
- Children’s Art Alley Tent and family activities
- music and performances on the Community Entertainment Stage
- a silent art auction benefiting the non-profit mission
