From Marfa to Corpus Christi and beyond, discover twelve residencies for artists and writers across Texas, with details on deadlines, fees, housing, and stipends.

To call Texas big is an understatement. If you’re looking for artist residencies in the largest state in the continental U.S., you’d better be ready to roam. The possibilities are endless: you might land in a national park under some of the darkest skies in the nation, at a museum Donald Judd founded in Marfa, in an 1890s Odd Fellows hall, or even on an island in the Gulf of Mexico. Here are twelve art and writing residencies that offer time, space, and, in many cases, money! Deadlines fall throughout the year, so check back often.
