NMPE is open to all painters of traditional and nontraditional subject matter. The entries represent an extremely wide range of artistic skill and ability. In selecting work for the exhibit the jury was looking for over-all artistic excellence. The major goal of the New Mexico Painters Exhibition is to both encourage and challenge NM artists to continuously strive for artistic excellence.
