New Mexico–based artist Suzanne Sbarge’s two-month residency in Ogden begins September 2025, featuring new collage and installation work exploring nature and consciousness, culminating in a solo exhibition November 7, 2025–January 11, 2026.

Ogden Contemporary Arts is proud to announce New Mexico–based artist Suzanne Sbarge as its fourth annual Artist-in-Residence. Beginning September 1, 2025, Sbarge has embarked on a two-month residency at OCA, culminating in a solo exhibition on view from November 7, 2025, through January 11, 2026.
This milestone marks four years of OCA’s unwavering commitment to fostering innovation, creative exchange, and cultural enrichment in Ogden’s vibrant arts community.
During her residency, Sbarge will expand her distinctive practice by producing a new body of work that blends collage, immersive installation, and animation. By incorporating video projection and digital experimentation, her practice will evolve in bold new directions.
Drawing inspiration from Ogden’s natural landscapes, the exhibition will weave surreal narratives with abstract visual language, examining the interconnectedness of humans and the natural world. The resulting body of work invites audiences to reflect on consciousness, ecology, and our shared place within the living landscape.
“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Suzanne Sbarge as our Artist-in-Residence,” says Venessa Castagnoli, executive director of OCA. “Suzanne has dedicated her career to uplifting artists through her work as both an educator and arts administrator. Her decades of support and advocacy have left a lasting impact on the creative community, and now, it’s her turn. We’re honored to provide the space and support for Suzanne to fully invest in her own artistic practice and continue evolving as an artist.”
The exhibition opens with a reception on November 7, 2025, offering audiences a first look at this highly anticipated new work.

About the OCA Artist-in-Residence Program
Each year, OCA invites one artist from outside Utah to live and create in Ogden for two months. The program provides the time, space, and resources needed to ignite, inspire, and influence not only the artist’s practice but also Northern Utah’s cultural community. Engagement opportunities include public workshops, university lectures, and hands-on sessions at OCA’s Artist Factory Workshop.
