Screening: Prelude to the Santa Fe Opera’s 2025 Season: The Innocents

July 18, 6:00 pm8:00 pm MDT

$20

Our festival season is quickly approaching, and what better way to prepare than with a film series? We have carefully selected films inspired by our 2025 festival season.

Before each screening, we will be joined by moderator Dr. Don Fineberg and Santa Fe Opera Stage directors James Robinson of La bohème, Louisa Mueller of The Turn of the Screw, and Melly Still of Die Walküre, who will provide an exclusive sneak peek of the exciting surprises we have in store for the stage this summer!

Director Louisa Muller returns to introduce her award-winning production of The Turn of the Screw with a screening of The Innocents (1961).
Description: Based on the Henry James story The Turn of the Screw, a psychological thriller about a woman who takes a governess job for two orphans in a Victorian home. She begins to see what she believes are ghosts and suspects the children’s bizarre behavior is the result of supernatural powers.
