Inspired by the visionary New-Old Santa Fe Exhibition and Architectural Prize Contests of 1912–1913, this exhibition is both an invitation and a provocation to imagine Santa Fe’s future.
In March 2025, Friends of Architecture Santa Fe, with support from the City’s Arts and Culture Department, hosted over 50 participants in a half-day design charrette aimed at envisioning a Santa Fe decades from now. Participants critically examined a range of “used futures” and used speculative design techniques—AI image generation, future fiction writing, spatial design, and more—to craft scenarios and artifacts from a range of possible futures.
The work presented in this exhibition offers glimpses into those imagined futures—opening a space for community dialogue, creativity, and dreaming about the future that Santa Fe’s next General Plan might help shape.
Complimentary drinks and light refreshments will be provided.
