Opening: Jazmin Novak: Close to Home

Opening reception for Jazmin Novak: Close to Home
Friday, August 7th 5-7PM
Exhibition runs through Saturday, September 12th, 2026
Bringing together works created over the past several years, this exhibition explores themes of memory, relationships, and belonging. Through cast glass, metal, and stone, Jazmin Novak reflects on the ways we care for ourselves and one another, finding moments of resilience, vulnerability, and healing. Created in both New Mexico and during her MFA program at Alfred University in New York State, the works reveal an artistic practice grounded in personal experience, material exploration, and a deep connection to the natural world. The exhibition invites viewers to pause, reflect, and consider the relationships that shape who we are.
“As a Diné sculptor, I explore connection, identity, and shared humanity from an Indigenous perspective. My work centers on relationships—with the land, ecosystems, and the people who care for us. Working in metal, stone, and glass, I use animal figures as storytelling tools to explore lived experiences.” – Jazmin Novak
