Garrett T. Capps, of San Antonio, Texas, returns to Magdalena for his third performance here, this time solo, sans his band NASA Country.

There probably aren’t enough thick books and serious documentaries recognizing San Antonio as a musical epicenter. But even if there were, they wouldn’t be nearly as much fun as Garrett T. Capps’ new album, “I Still Love San Antone”. With all the heartfelt zaniness audiences have come to expect from the S.A.-based singer-songwriter, the album pushes far beyond any novelty record format. Capps’ masterful work of offbeat regional storytelling incorporates fired-up country-rock and retro Tex-Mex instrumentation with a genuinely psychedelic worldview.
Co-written with and produced by Texas D.I.Y. innovator Bill Baird, 15 tracks capture an astonishingly concise cultural history of the Alamo City’s contemporary outsiders and oddities. Bottling The 210 both lyrically and sonically, the album features performances by Lone Star legends Joe “King” Carrasco, Santiago Jiménez Jr., Rosie Flores, Augie Meyers, and Butthole Surfers’ Paul Leary. Released on March 10, I Still Love San Antone is indeed the MOST PSYCHEDELIC TEX-MEX ALBUM OF ALL TIME.
