What happens when a poem becomes a painting?
The Mad Hatter Gallery is reversing the ekphrastic poetry tradition. Instead of poets writing about art, it has invited fourteen Las Cruces artists to create art inspired by Las Cruces poets.
To experience poetry and art from a new perspective, join the opening reception to hear the poems read live alongside the art they inspired on Friday, May 1, 5PM to 8PM.
Word to Image is on view May 1 to June 13.
