3rd Annual Gathering of Artisans Mercado

Presented by the Abiquiú Arts Council, the Gathering of Artisans Mercado is a vibrant two-day celebration of handmade art, culture, and community featuring talented artists from across Rio Arriba County. This juried indoor mercado will take place June 6 & 7 at Northern New Mexico College in Española, NM.

Visitors are invited to explore a thoughtfully curated selection of original artwork and handcrafted goods, including painting, pottery, jewelry, textiles, woodwork, folk art, photography, metalwork, and more. The event offers a unique opportunity to meet the artists, learn about their creative processes, and support local makers rooted in the rich cultural traditions and landscapes of Northern New Mexico.

Held inside the NNMC Administration Building, the mercado provides a welcoming indoor setting with free admission and an easy, relaxed atmosphere for browsing and connecting. Food and beverages will be available on-site from Lazy Buffalo Trading Co.

The Gathering of Artisans Mercado reflects the Abiquiú Arts Council’s mission to uplift regional artists and strengthen community through the arts.
