Cosanti Originals Windbells are individually handcrafted by artists in Arizona
Listed on the Arizona Registry of Historic Places, Cosanti features more early examples of the experimental architecture of pioneering architect Paolo Soleri (1919-2013) than anywhere else in the world. Built using unusual techniques and materials, the otherworldly structures there seem at once futuristic and primitive. In these creatively constructed spaces, bronze and ceramic Cosanti Originals Windbells have been individually hand-made for more than sixty-five years with exquisite craftsmanship by skilled artisans.
Using the same time-honored crafting tradition as when it was first introduced by Soleri, the embellished surfaces of the bronze and ceramic windbells echo the architecture of the space in which they are made. Organic and freeform or geometric and measured, the windbell surfaces are alive with texture, color, and artful motifs that embody the spirit of the American Southwest and make them highly sought-after and widely collected worldwide.
