We welcome individual artists, artist groups and curators to submit exhibition proposals for the 2027-2028 gallery season. LHUCA houses four galleries: the Christine DeVitt Exhibition Hall, Martin McDonal Hall, John F. Lott Gallery, and the Helen Devitt Jones Studio Gallery. Proposals are encouraged (but not required) to respond to the unique character of one of the galleries. Floor plans are linked below. All visual art media are accepted including: painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, collage, mixed media, photography, fiber art, ceramics, jewelry, installations, sound art, digital art, and video.
Exhibitions are displayed for two consecutive months attracting around 5,000+ visitors
each month at First Friday Art Trail. Artist stipend available for traveling artists. Artwork can be for sale or not.
Installation and deinstallation dates will be coordinated with the curator. Install typically occurs from Tuesday – Thursday preceding the first Friday of the month of the exhibition with deinstall from Sunday – Monday.

Interested artists, art groups, or curators should compile the following materials into a single PDF:
-Digital portfolio of 5–10 images with a corresponding image list or labels.
-A brief artist statement and/or exhibition proposal (500 words max).
-Contact information including current address, email, website, social media, and any collaborator information.
-Dates requested for exhibition and dates unavailable
-Gallery requested (if applicable)

Email the PDF to LHUCA Curator, Taylor Ernst, at exhibits@lhuca.org with the email subject line “2027 Exhibition Proposal.” Files too large to email may be shared via Google Drive or Dropbox. No submission fee required.
Questions may be directed to exhibits@lhuca.org. Due to the high volume of submissions we receive during our open call we are unable to provide individual feedback about portfolios or accept late submissions. Response time to inquiries may take up to two weeks.
Artists who have exhibited with LHUCA in the past can only reapply every five years.
