About
Presented by the Santa Fe Film Institute, the Academy Award-qualifying Santa Fe International Film Festival takes place each October with premiere film screenings, a robust educational program, and dynamic industry events.
Boasting 175 new films and more than 160 visiting filmmakers and industry members throughout its six-day festival, SFiFF presents a selection of outstanding independent and international films in addition to special receptions, industry panels, and discussions with film professionals throughout downtown Santa Fe and its Railyard district. Each October, SFiFF's premiere film program includes international films, American independent films, the Natural World program, Indigenous films, New Mexico films, special presentations, and more than 100 short films. SFiFF’s five days of cinema and special events take place in Santa Fe’s magnificent theaters and popular downtown restaurants, local museums, and inspiring art galleries.
Recent guests have included Bryan Cranston, Oliver Stone, Godfrey Reggio, Catherine Hardwicke, Shirley MacLaine, Robert Redford, Ethan Hawke, Wes Studi, Jay Roach, Ali MacGraw, John Sayles, Zahn McClarnon, Tantoo Cardinal, Christopher Guest, and Sterlin Harjo.
