Celebrating 100 years of Route 66, Heritage Inspirations launches a new Albuquerque Architecture & History Tour.

In honor of the centennial of Route 66, Heritage Inspirations announces the launch of the Route 66 Albuquerque Architecture & History Tour, a thoughtfully curated, full-day experience exploring the cultural, architectural, and artistic legacy of America’s most iconic highway.
Designated in 1926, Route 66—often called the “Mother Road”—became a symbol of mobility, reinvention, and possibility. As the roadway approaches its 100th anniversary, Albuquerque stands out as one of its most vibrant and intact cultural corridors, where original alignments, neon-era landmarks, and contemporary
creative districts continue to shape the city’s identity.
“Route 66 is more than a road—it’s a living archive of American stories,” says Angelisa Murray, founder of Heritage Inspirations. “In Albuquerque, you can see how architecture, art, and everyday life evolved alongside the highway and wove its way into the story of New Mexico’s distinctive culture. This tour invites guests to slow down and experience the Mother Road not as
nostalgia, but as a place still very much alive today!”
Guided by expert storytellers, the Route 66 Albuquerque Architecture & History Tour weaves together architecture, history, art, and lived experience along historic Route 66 alignments. Guests explore Pueblo Deco and mid-century architectural landmarks, vibrant mural corridors, and evolving urban districts that reflect decades of cultural exchange and reinvention.
The experience includes a decadent lunch at DWTNR inside ARRIVE Hotel, a walk through Nob Hill’s dynamic streetscape, and a visit to a hidden local gem known only to insiders. Together, these moments create a sensory-rich narrative of how movement, design, and creative spirit shaped one of America’s most legendary highways.
“Route 66 shaped Albuquerque, and Albuquerque in turn transformed Route 66,” Murray adds. “This tour is about honoring that relationship—connecting people to place through story, design, and lived history, especially as we approach this remarkable centennial milestone.”
The Route 66 Albuquerque Architecture & History Tour is now open for booking. Details, dates, and reservations are available at heritageinspirations.com.
