Opening: Road Trips

Hit the road with artist Lisette McClung as Archway Gallery presents Road Trips, a vibrant exhibition of paintings inspired by a decade of travel and discovery. On view August 1 through September 3, 2026, the exhibit features both plein air and studio works capturing the beauty of landscapes, villages, ranches, and cities across the United States and Europe. Meet the artist during the opening reception on Saturday, August 1, from 5 to 8 p.m., with an artist talk beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Painting outdoors has been McClung’s lifelong passion, allowing her to capture fleeting light, color, and atmosphere that later inform her larger studio works. A Houston-area artist since 1990, McClung has earned recognition through juried plein air competitions across Texas and Louisiana following her retirement as a high school art educator. Road Trips allows visitors to experience the joy of travel through expressive landscapes that celebrate the beauty waiting just beyond the next turn.
