Join Jacqueline Mallegni for an immersive three-day papermaking workshop in Arroyo Hondo, NM. Learn how to process abaca fiber for sheet formation and sculptural applications at Paper Rain Studio. The workshop takes place April 10–13 from 10:00am–4:00pm each day.
Paper Reflections invites you to become familiar with materiality. Forage for inclusions and build structures with natural materials. Explore surface embellishment with ink and stains made with your found plant fibers. This workshop provides a fun collaborative environment with other participants, nature, water and trees.
Workshop Overview:
- Discover the how-to’s of hand papermaking with abaca linters
- Process abaca and plant fibers for sheet formation
- Fabricate sculpture with natural materials
- Collect willow and other materials from the land
- Mark-making with sumi ink, indigo and plant based stains
- All skill levels are welcome.
