Opening: Querencia: Eric Romero

In Querencia, Eric Romero celebrates the people, traditions, and cultural touchstones that create a sense of home and belonging. Drawing from his Hispanic and Native roots and his lived experience in New Mexico, Romero weaves together family, faith, car culture, mythology, and regional iconography through vibrant color, humor, and deeply personal storytelling.
At the heart of this new body of work is family, particularly the generations of women who nurture, preserve, and carry culture forward. Through portraits of those closest to him and familiar symbols of New Mexico life, Romero reflects on heritage as something both inherited and continually reimagined. Querencia is ultimately a celebration of authenticity, cultural pride, and the enduring connections that allow us to feel most at home in ourselves.
