Georgina Treviño: Greetings from Tijuana

The University Art Museum is pleased to present Georgina Treviño: Greetings from Tijuana, an alluring solo exhibition that marks a return to the city where jewelry artist Georgina Treviño was born and raised until the age of thirteen. Framed through the lens of the postcard, this exhibition transports viewers to the iconic city of Tijuana and highlights the generation that came of age there during the 1990’s and 2000’s.
Georgina Treviño is a multidisciplinary artist, jeweler, and educator from Tijuana, Mexico, currently based in San Diego, California. She earned a BA in Applied Design with an emphasis in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from San Diego State University in 2014. Treviño’s work has been featured in publications including the Los Angeles Times, Elle, Vogue, Purple Magazine, and various book anthologies. She has collaborated with high-profile celebrities such as Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, Olivia Rodrigo, Rosalía, Bella Hadid, Lizzo, Doja Cat, and Kali Uchis. Her brand collaborations include Nike, E.l.f. Cosmetics, Bimba y Lola, Converse, Guess, and Spotify.
Her work has been part of several national & international exhibitions and is part of several prestigious permanent collections, including the Museum of Arts and Design (New York), the Racine Art Museum (Wisconsin), the Alain Servais Collection (Brussels), and the Jorge M. Pérez Collection at the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM).
