Charlie Burk and Gilberto Romero: Of Earth and Sky
On view: October 3–October 16, 2025
Opening reception: Friday, October 3, 5:00-7:00 pm
Of Earth and Sky, an exhibition of new paintings by Charlie Burk and sculptures by Gilberto Romero, celebrates our connection with the natural world and its mysteries.
Charlie Burk has been painting landscape for over forty years and finds an endless source of inspiration from nature. He paints poetic portraits of our living earth, captivating us with lush landscapes of grass that feel elusive yet calming.
Gilberto Romero is a hands-on artist, completing all of his work from his studio in La Cienega. Like Burk, Romero finds artistic inspiration from his time spent in nature. Through his shape, line, color, and use of negative and positive space, Romero inspires freedom, flow, and playful wonderment. Cast bronze birds play a part in many of his pieces, conjuring for us the idea of flight, expansion, and the delightful ability to soar.
Together, these seasoned artists both ground and expand us with their interpretations of the wonders that surround us.
