Live Painting Demonstration: Mary Calengor

King Galleries is hosting an exclusive live painting demonstration by acclaimed artist Mary Calengor on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. at the gallery’s Santa Fe location just off the historic plaza on Lincoln Street.

Calengor is known for her highly realistic still lifes that focus on historic Native American artifacts. This demonstration will offer visitors an intimate glimpse into her creative process. “Born in Duluth, Minnesota and now living in Santa Fe, I grew up in a house filled with art,” says Calengor. “My father is a painter, and I developed a passion for this creative outlet under his tutelage. At a young age, I worked by his side in our studio, sketching and exploring various mediums.”

The afternoon event will feature a real-time painting session, during which Calengor will discuss her techniques, artistic influences, and the intuitive methods that shape her distinctive style. Guests will also have the opportunity to view a curated selection of her completed works, which will be available for purchase.
