Chris Kemler: Eleos: Acknowledgement of Others

Join Chris Kemler at an artist talk as he shares his creative journey and inspiration in creating Eleos: Acknowledgement of Others, on exhibit at The Mad Hatter Gallery in Las Cruces, NM. A champagne and chocolate reception will follow the talk. The exhibit is inspired by Goddess Eleos who in Greek mythology symbolizes mercy and compassion.
Chris Kemler, a contemporary artist born in Lawrence, Kansas, now residing in Las Cruces, creates tactile wooden artworks that challenge viewers’ perceptions of material and form. Prior to moving to Las Cruces, Chris focused on his furniture craft, winning awards at the Texas Furniture Makers Show in 2010 and 2011, and was included in Craft Texas 2012 at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. Kemler was selected as a 2025 SURFACE emerging artist by the Harwood Art Center in Albuquerque.
