Part-time (24 hours/week) | $35/hour | On-call for emergencies
Location: Santa Fe, NM
Position Overview
The Facility and Art Installation Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and well-maintained operation of SFAI’s facilities. This role supports staff, artists, and the public by managing daily operations, coordinating vendors, and preparing spaces for art exhibitions, events, and artist residencies.
Key Facilities and Installation Responsibilities
- Oversee building systems and equipment and manage vendors, contracts and budgets (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, security, vehicles, bicycles)
- Perform light repairs and maintenance (painting, wall repairs, snow removal, grease traps)
- Ensure safety, cleanliness, and accessibility, including waste management
- Maintain facility vehicles and bicycles
- Maintain records of expenditures, contracts, and maintenance
- Respond promptly to facility emergencies
- Scheduling annual inspections (i.e. fire, security, equipment maintenance)
- Assist with art exhibition/event setup and light art handling
- Prepare spaces for programs and workshops, including AV setup
- Attend staff meetings and contribute to facility planning
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience managing commercial or institutional facilities
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety systems
- Strong communication, organization, and vendor management skills
- Experience with maintenance scheduling, budgeting, and emergency response
- Ability to perform light repairs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workspace
- Must live within 20 minutes of SFAI; reliable transportation and personal cell phone with reliable cell service required
Compensation & Benefits
- $35/hour, part-time (up to 24 hours/week), on-call for emergencies
- Limited paid time off

- Option to add dependent coverage at employee’s expense.
- $25/month cell phone reimbursement
