Workshop & Pop-up Sale: Cartonería with Ololo Diseño Mexicano

Experience the tradition of Mexican cartonería — the centuries-old art of sculpting with paper and paste — in an immersive workshop led by a master artist, Christian Godoy Rodríguez from Silao, Guanajuato. This is your chance to create your own cartonería figure while learning the history, symbolism, and techniques behind one of Mexico’s most colorful folk art forms!

What to Expect:

Over 4 hours, workshop participants will:

• Learn the traditional methods of cartonería unique to Silao, Guanajuato
• Shape, design, and paint your own papier-mâché figure
• Hear stories about the cultural significance and impact of this craft
• Work alongside an artisan and our community in this intimate, small-group setting

All materials provided. You will receive a workshop kit including paints, brushes, and other essentials to complete your piece — even after the session ends!
