The Memories of Moments, a new exhibition of paintings on view at Blue Rain Durango from July 16–July 31, 2025. The artist will attend a reception on Friday, July 18, and will offer a live demonstration of his technique on Saturday, July 19.

Matthew Sievers’ distinctive style is marked by spontaneous brushwork and bold palette knife technique, lending a visceral texture and vibrancy to each piece. By layering thin applications of oil paint, he achieves a striking depth in his vibrant landscapes. For Sievers, painting is both an exploration and a joy, a space where creative intuition meets disciplined craft. Based in Idaho, he continues to pursue new inspiration, pushing the boundaries of his medium while staying rooted in the emotional resonance that defines his work.
