The Owings Gallery is thrilled to present Logan Maxwell Hagege: Fertile Ground, an exhibition featuring a dynamic selection of recent works by one of the most compelling voices in contemporary Western American art. This marks Hagege’s first solo exhibition at The Owings Gallery.
This exhibition brings together a range of works that highlight the breadth of Hagege’s subject matter and artistic vision. Included are sweeping Southwestern landscapes, vivid depictions of native flora, adobe structures, and expressive portrayals of the people of the Southwest. Each work offers a deeply considered exploration of the region’s beauty, culture, and light—rendered with Hagege’s signature style and sensitivity.
Originally from Los Angeles, Hagege traces his earliest artistic inspiration to childhood trips to the California desert to visit his grandmother. These formative experiences laid the foundation for his lifelong connection to the desert and its people. That connection continues to resonate in his work, imbuing each canvas with authenticity, reverence, and emotional depth. His work is held in prestigious museum collections nationwide, including the Autry Museum of the American West, the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, the Eiteljorg Museum, and the Briscoe Western Art Museum. Hagege fuses classical American realism with contemporary design principles, creating a style that is at once timeless and fresh. His masterful technique, luminous color palette, and lyrical compositions elevate traditional Western themes into a new visual language.
Please join us for our opening on August 1st, 5-7PM. The exhibition will be on view at The Owings Gallery through October 1st, 2025 and can also be viewed in its entirety at www.owingsgallery.com.
