2026 Call for Proposals
Artists, art groups, or curators interested in exhibiting with LHUCA for the 2026 season should submit the following by deadline – September 1, 2025.
LHUCA has four distinct gallery spaces. Proposals maybe be designed around a specific gallery (floor plans linked above). Please note, curatorial staff will assign gallery placement and not all gallery requests may be met.
All visual art media accepted including: painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, collage, mixed media, photography, fiber art, ceramics, jewelry, installations, sound art, digital art, and video.
Exhibits are displayed for two consecutive months. Openings take place during First Friday Art Trail, a monthly event throughout Downtown Lubbock that brings in 5,000+ attendees. Artist stipend available for traveling artist. Artwork maybe be for sale but is not required.

Entry deadline: September 1, 2025
Notification date: September 15, 2025
Submission Requirements:
Submissions should be made as a single PDF labeled Last Name_First Name_2026 Exhibition Proposal (example: Kahlo_Frida_2026 Exhibition Proposal). The PDF should include:
– Digital portfolio of 5–10 images with captions or corresponding image list
– A brief artist statement and/or exhibition proposal (500 words max)
– Contact information
Email PDF to LHUCA Curator, Taylor Ernst, at exhibits@lhuca.org with the email subject line “2026 Exhibition Proposal.”
Files too large to email may be shared via Google Drive or Dropbox. Video/sound files can be linked within the PDF. Please note that content in the body of the email will not be included as part of the proposal. Any information or images applicants wish to share with the curator should be included in the PDF.
No submission fee required.
